Q What are the difficulties facing you as athlete? Training at night in the dark. The night is a dark time for me Q How do you support yourself financial? I have a sports shop in birr and am putting up a website www.gksports.ie Q Where do you train? I train in tullamore its the nearest track to me plus it s my home club so there is a good bit of support there for me. I trained in UL for 3 yrs but switching coaches meant we were following different paths. Q Describe the previous coaches you have worked with. Paddy Larkin , Great way of getting his message across. Over saw all of my training up until winter 05. 46.70 Sean Naughton . Put the fear of god into you before a race. Definitely want him in your corner 46.70 Meave Kyle . As gentle as a lamb and great way of coaching. Loved my weekends in Meaves. 47.35 my self: Did what ever i wanted this was not a good thing at all 48.3 John Stacey: Definitely the most structured coach everything was planned. loved johns training truly a great coach and a good friend aswell. 46.89 Got sick and that was the season over really taught it was going to be a big one that year. John Coughlan: Is coaching me at present brought me from fat man to 46.48 in a few months. First winter under John has being tough but I just get out there and get the sessions done. Trust him 100% and he s a tough but very knowledgeable coach Q Is your coach full time or do you do sessions on your own? No my coach is working he emails me the session and i text him the results. I train on my own not out of choice but at this level its hard to find a group to train with and my location is a bit of a problem Q Whats your coaches philosophy on the 400m.
