Where are you from?

 Killeshin, Carlow 


How did you get involved in athletics?

Went to trainin with a friend one night and I've just been goin ever since.


Describe what kind of training you did as a kid? 

We were encouraged to give everyting a go. 


What were your teammates like? 

They were great!! a few still train with me now. 


Can u remember your first competition?

It  was in navan for leinsters i was u13 and i jumped 1.30m and came 5th !


Did you do any other events?

Did alot of them except the long distance!! never really liked it! 


When did you get serious about training? 

It was more of a gradual thing. As i got better and set some goals i began to train a little more.


Did you do any other sports.

I played soccer and football but gave them up 2 ys ago. 


What were the worst injuries you ever had? 

I got jumpers knee at the begining of last years indoor season. That really messed up training and competing  


How long did it take to heal?

It took 2 months to completely go away 


What recovery methods did you use? 

I had laser and ultra sound on it and stopped any high impact training for awhile.


How important is nutrition to you ?

Not that much yet but i try to eat a balanced diet.


What food do you find useful before & after training.

I drink provon revive after training for recovery. And i somtimes bring a nutri grain bar for afterwards


Best jump/competition?

My best competition has to be the Finlandia games. it was a great experience and winning  the u15 was brilliant


Worst jump/competition?

I had a few no height competitions in 2006


Do you listen to music before you compete? 

Usually on the way to the competition and its usually some kind of rock.


Any superstitions before a competition?

 None any more but i used to have a pair of lucky shorts ha ha !
